About Us

Founded in 1982, this landmark hotel fringing the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary has a unique character and ambience, still unsurpassed by any other resort in the area.

A Confluence of Creative Minds
Designed by the renowned British-born-but-settled-in-Kerala architect Laurie Baker, Ambadi is the first heritage hotel in the private sector in Kerala. Conceptualised on the traditional architectural splendour of a typical Kerala village, it boasts of even a thulasi thara and a nallukettu. The name Ambadi has been chosen by noted film maker G. Aravindan and the emblem for the resort has been designed by Kerala’s famous artist Namboothiri.
